Cindy Ward leads and provides direction and oversight for financial planning, financial controllership and management. With an incredible responsibility to the residents of Ontario, Cindy and her team manage approximately $4 billion of public funds. Cindy’s oversight defines and drives finance programs, policies, systems, services and models within the broader framework of Ontario Health atHome’s mandate and mission, vision and values. Cindy oversees all financial services and systems and provides direction on day-to-day financial operations.
Cindy has more than 30 years of experience in financial, risk, information, physical and human resource management, as well as policy, control and governance processes in the higher education and health care sectors. A high-performance leader with proven strategic and team-building skills, she possesses an impressive track record of successfully managing financial operations – including for this organization since 2014. Cindy co-led the transition of the local Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) to the Local Health Integration Network in 2017, while also actively participating in provincial working groups focused on ensuring consistency and efficiency amongst all 14 CCAC transitions. Cindy provided Corporate Services leadership through ensuing transitions involving Ontario Health, Home and Community Care Support Services and eventually Ontario Health atHome. Cindy is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Professional Accountant and holds an Honours Bachelor of Administration in Co-Op Accounting from Brock University.
